The Ruins of Love

Sufi Pt 1 Lyrics…

My secret beloved
Send me a secret message
Give me your soul
Give me your life

Wander like a drifter
Now on a journey

Walk into this fire embrace
Be like a salamander
Come into a source of flame
Fire transmutes to a rosebud

Don’t you know that my thought
Is better than the queen of roses?
Don’t you know my heresy
Is the essence of spirituality?

Then surrender your spirt
Surrender your life
For God I know
That darkness is better than a cage!

Walk into this fire embrace
Be like a salamander
Come into a source of flame
Fire transmutes to a rosebud

Don’t you know that my thought
Is better than the queen of roses?
Don’t you know my heresy
Is the essence of spirituality?

Then surrender your spirt
Surrender your life

For God I know
That darkness is better than a cage!

I know a palace is better than a ruin
And the owl in this world
Loves to live
In the ruins of love

I am always learning how to read better between the lines of language and life. Words are just representations. Of what, is the mystery. They are magick in a way. Evoking and caging sometimes something in us. I’ve practiced Zen now for a bit, this is the essence of Zen, to know our true nature where we are, nothing more, nothing less.

I know a palace is better than a ruin
And the owl in this world

Loves to live
In the ruins of love

I studied these lyrics a bit years ago and meditated deeply on what is said and not said. I looked into the Sufi path and what they meant by flame and the beloved. I am not trying to be clever here, but I have felt all the deities are within us, drawn to the light/flame, as we are a shadow, a portal to the nameless faceless. The owl, in this world, loves to live in the ruin of love. I choose not to name or make distinctions. The deity is the one who I point at, when I point back at myself. This is cutting to the root. This is going headless. This is directly perceiving beyond words.

I love Rumi, but I really know Shams, who was behind Rumi. Somehow I feel Shams is close to me and represents my secret beloved. He showed me to let the distinctions go.

A life without love is of no account. Don’t ask yourself what kind of love you should seek, spiritual or material, divine or mundane, eastern or western…divisions only lead to more divisions. Love has no labels, no definitions. It is what it is, pure and simple. Love is the water of life. And a lover is a soul of fire! The universe turns differently when fire loves water.”

–Shams Of Tabriz

“The universe turns differently when fire loves water.”

That’s a koan.

When I listened to this song first, I felt the flame 🔥 inside me leap. Yearning for freedom. I felt it. I felt like crying and laughing at the same time. Fire loves water.

Rumi said sell your cleverness and buy bewilderment, that’s got to be one of my favorite written poetic lines.

I think the lyrics point to the freeing of the flame within us, which is always free. This awareness transmutes us, by realizing our lives are not cages, that we are already free. This is the real Alchemy. This returns us to Eden. The world of matter is a ruin in away, a compromise, in between chaos and light.

Somehow it can know itself better in the ruin, but this world is a sham. It is not that the flame 🔥  needs escape, but that it simply is uncovered.

The water is all around us, love is not the flame, it is the water, which the flame is attracted to. We would think flame fears water, and perhaps it does for awhile, then it seeks to dowse itself in love. When fire loves water, the universe turns differently.

If the bird can get just a glimpse of what is around it and within it, instantly it is transmuted and free. So the body is the cage.

This awareness does not make me want to fly away, it deepens my connection, Aslan, there is no where else to go, here we are. Allah is clothed by rational thought, occulted by matter, but known through awareness. The lion. In Hebrew,

Aslan means ‘satan‘ which means ‘lucifer/first light in the morning’ which means ‘daybreak’. The circle is closed around the point, the central sun. Everything is contained within the circle.

⭕️

I could not always see with my real eyes 👀 I was in a cage. But I embraced the prison and it opened to Eden through my heart, to the point, naked singularity. I can’t show anyone, I can’t really tell anyone, but like knows like. We can point to it. We can sing 🎶  about it. We can dance 💃 around it. Flame 🔥 joins with 🔥 And we embrace water 💧 seemingly a crazy thing for a flame to do, and then the universe turns differently for us.I was withering in my life 10 years ago, dying. But a great wind blew through me. It lifted me high into the air and brought me face to face with the ☀️ Our source, itself only a representation. Like words, all form is just a representation.

What appeared to trap me, turned to dust and I flew for the first time.

But I returned, and now I rest here, in the center of it all. I rest in the chaos, in the center of my life. I feel the heat, which is behind all form and I love it, for this is loving and knowing myself. I saw what was behind all esoteric and what was occulted, what was behind all religious and secular symbols.

Where you gonna go?

Where you gonna hide from love?

The morning light dawned inside me.

I don’t cry anymore.
I’m smiling 😊and laughing with joy.
I feel Aslan within me, laying on the savannah, roaring within. This is the true path to god/love, an ever present connection, it ends where it began, full circle. I drink deeply now from this ocean, I could hardly believe it was real. I was dying because I was thirsting for this love, but terrified of it. This never dies. Anywhere this light breaks into the world, matter forms around it, cults form, religions are born. The matter longs to connect with it or naturally is attracted to it. So we have the planets rotating around the outer sun, as what is inside us rotates around the inner sun.

Bound by gravity.

Bound together by love.

Sometimes I do cry 😭 because it is too damn beautiful to contain.

I weep blood into the dirt through my cries and words.

The birds are returning.

All deity reflects love.

All deity seeks to free us.

We are only held back through this egoic force.

In Rumi’s allegories, amongst the free birds, the Owl and the Falcon represent the two primary options once one is freed from the cage. The Owl lives in the dark, far from civilization, only relating with its own kind, whereas the Falcon rests upon the arm of the king, staying close to the power source and maintaining his relations and connection with any and all who venture to the court. The Falcon holds a pure, open vision, flying during the day and returning to his master’s arm at night, while the Owl lives in seclusion, coming out in the dark, lost without the guidance of a master. The Falcon represents a follower who has fallen off track, one who has insight but has pointed it in a skewed direction. Falcon as an exemplary option working in contrast with the Owl who has lost his way after enlightenment.

For Rumi, the last and most powerful bird is the Phoenix, a bird so exquisite it nearly plays the role of God himself. The Phoenix is rare, and when sighted acts as an omen, serving the purpose of reminding humans to stay in awe of God’s power. The Phoenix reminds one to soak up moments with the divine because they may be fleeting and far between. The Phoenix is quite likely an unreal creature and therefore its existence can only rely on faith. The Phoenix reminds us to have faith even when we cannot see it, to hold God close and be open to any help He may have to offer us because He is always there.

The pagan and the religious and secular all experience life differently perhaps but rotate around the same source, are of the same stuff.

The fire is the force, the purpose, the will, that pushes us through life.

The bird knows the way back.

I can’t judge the paths others take in life, but I can see the intensity of the 🔥 within them. I call out to it in others. Tempt them to let it break free, as they tempt me. Passion reminds us of this contact with the unseen, it celebrates it in whatever form it burns.

All words can provide guidance, but no answers ultimately. I feel that we all must search for the things that we love and feel passionately about and then follow them until death do us part.

I hope all can come to know this freedom.

DuoGraph Zen Meditation no. 2 – Owl and the Rabbit

Some new art inspired by Wei Wu Wei’s writing in ‘Unwordly Wise’, a story about an Owl and a Rabbit and life. His last book.

The DuoGraph is a hand made mechanical drawing device I found recently. I have been exploring with it.

No Path

I exhausted myself, looking.
No one ever finds this by trying.
I melted into it and came home,
Where every jar is full,
But no one drinks
.” – Lalla

There is no path to the higher Self.

There is no external salvation.

There is no enlightenment.

There is no escape from your predicament.

Heaven is here now.

Hell is here now.

Choose which you will inhabit.

This is the Best Possible World, here and now, you don’t go again.

This is you being confronted with the Truth of Self, what will you choose?

This is the eternal moment…now…now…now…now.

Not only is there no one here seeking, there is nothing to find.

Let me say that again…

THERE IS NOTHING TO FIND AND NO ONE HERE SEEKING

Gibberish? I know it is Truth. That is of no help to you though, is it? Now that we have that out of the way, let me suggest you leave your gurus and teachers if you follow any, they want you too anyway, cast off and sail inside to the shores of knowing led by the True Light of your Self. Either these holy ones, ha, know what I am saying already or they are as lost as the people that follow them. We all need community, but we share in that as equals. There is no higharchy among us needed when all take responsibility for their actions and reactions, we are all equals, because we are of the same stuff. No one has the right to dictate your actions, they can force and coerce you, but you have the choice how you respond with your actions and reactions. This is a debatable point dependent on your understanding of free will, in actuality there may be no free will. In the world around you, you have the illusion of choice, but they are mediated by cause and effect.

Your suffering is illusory, I know it hurts, I didn’t say it will not hurt, but no one is here to hurt and no one is hurting you. A paradox, no? How will you resolve it? The shackles that bind you are bigger than your neck and limbs, they slip on and off.

Perhaps you do or don’t acknowledge the spiritual aspect of your being, but there is one, have no doubts, shrug, or struggle with them forever, it is your individual choice. I care, because we all have a stake in our collective awareness and our contribution. Unbalance unbalances all, I seek balance inside and without, for all of us. A balance and agreement must be made between your shadow and light aspects and if we can all do this, the world around us will be as it is naturally and we can flow in it naturally balanced, with balanced concern and freedom from suffering.

There is no winner, no struggle needed.

Everything here at QU is meant to show you there is a knowing possible in life, you need not be tossed on the waves with no hope. Except it isn’t some rope you must grab external to yourself, or some secret teaching you need to find, you are the rope and your own hope. Bumping through life is not needed forever, though it is necessary sometimes. There is an awareness about the world inside of you that is possible to find, a balance, a cancelling of the terms. There are many ways to approach it and bring it forth from inside yourself.

Simply, you are the path to your own salvation from suffering and doubt…

Act accordingly.

I grew up an Evangelical Christian in the US. It’s a nationalist religion short and sweet. We have all heard from Christian fundamentalists that magic and witchcraft is linked with the Devil and that it is Satanic and you will go to hell if you practice it, but after understanding what real Magick is about and its purpose, its given me some insight into the real reason it is demonized. If we know anything about organized religion it uses ideas and symbols to control and indoctrinate people. Magick and occult practices on an individual level uses ideas and symbols to free a person’s mind and allows them to look at things from different perspectives to gain Self knowledge. If the goal of religion is to keep people ignorant, submissive, and controlled than the knowledge of Magick and the Estoeric practices is just as much a threat to blind faith as the knowledge of science and evolution are to blind faith.

I’m not here to promote the Devil or God, whatever those things are, they aren’t knowable or real maybe.

THERE IS SOMETHING HERE THOUGH

And we are flowing in it. I will keep my options open, I know how it acts, I know myself in it, but I don’t know what it is.  I’m here to remind you of something you forgot about yourself though. Anytime you come here to QU, you will be confronted with alternate ways to see yourself and the world and how to find yourself as the path.

YOU ARE THE PATH

This is the meaning of Christ’s words I found for myself. When you are ready to leave it all behind and go inside, you will begin a journey you will never be able to anticipate in the flow of life, you can be led by a honed intuition with no fear able to take any rough water. You are here to dissolve yourself back into that swirling whatever we are in right now. There is no up or down, left or right, good or evil, yet, in balance, all works out the way it should every moment.

THIS IS THE WAY

Daydreaming Abraxas

abraxas
Abraxas – Jung’s driving force of individuation

“Remember, beloved devotee, the double tail of the serpent that forms the legs of the solar rooster of Abraxas. The entire process of the Great Work consists of releasing oneself from the enchanted rings of the tempting serpent…”

“That which is spoken by God-the-Sun is life; that which is spoken by the Devil is death; Abraxas speaketh that hallowed and accursed word, which is life and death at the same time. Abraxas begetteth truth and lying, good and evil, light and darkness in the same word and in the same act. Wherefore is Abraxas terrible.” – C. Jung

Cosmic Consciousness can be experienced by anyone willing. No one, I mean no one, has a corner on the Truth. It is our Truth. There is no one competing. There is no reward.

All must stand in the Light. All must be weighed and sifted. We seek to ascend to the Pleroma again and nothing less. We do not seek wholeness, we discover our wholeness.

Behavior and belief are fine guides, but we must experience Gnosis. Life is an allegory teaching us how to embrace our inner Light.

The union in the bridal chamber of our heart is where we unify our internal Animus and Anima, Male and Female aspects.

This union of opposites provides the energy needed to delve deep within and allows us to confront the world in balance.

This is the mystical foundation of today’s spiritual experience. We seek union with our source and nothing less. All of this should be confirmed by your own experience.

How to achieve this, you must through patience and focus grab a hold and hold fast. There can be no fear and faith, you must know yourself.

Strike that thick cloud of unknowing the separates the creator and the created. Learn to read the signs and hear what is being whispered to you in every moment.

I have come across some who speak of life as a prison. No, this is simply not my experience. It has been an adventure. And everything has helped me find the center.

I seek the naked experience of the inner Light. Simply, I have found the Kingdom of God within.

Passions are like dogs, accustomed to licking the blood in a  butcher shop. If you ignore them, they will bark and howl. Repentance for the Esoteric is metanoia, change of mind.

We have a deep Hidden Wisdom tradition in the West. We are truly blessed to be alive today and allowed to freely explore these ideas and ourselves. You will find what you seek.

It is simply incredible the bounty of knowledge passed down through the ages, but it can only be unlocked in the heart. Only by the renewing of our minds and spirits can we see.

I wish your inner eye great vision and that you find an all transforming all consuming knowledge of your place in the Universe. Nothing exists in the Universe not found in us.

The Mysteries hint at the higher reality. You must die to find life beyond yourself. It is not Christ’s resurrection, but our own that we are experiencing. All is swirling and metaphor.

Receive and be Love. Be free from passions. Find the inner fire. Be still. Rest.

Innerverse and Universe

image

The Universe recently taught me something about the Innerverse and vice versa, as they tend to do. Every generation gets to put their own stamp on what Truth means for them and what it’s worth to them to bring forth. Who has the courage to read the signs and integrate the knowledge available and evolve the species today? There are many voices vying to explain why we exist today and from the past, maybe even the future. Science has by far been the most successful to explain the exterior world. The spot the medicine man once held was taken by religion, which has given way to our current dystopia that so many predicted and warned us to avoid, which is led by science. We have become our own jailers in a prison of our own creation. Who will share their inner dreams and hopes with a world based only on empiracal fact where every bit and byte is sifted and analyzed? Are we just data? No, of course not. When one person breaks through the current barrier, they make that journey for all of us. I’m here to join with the seekers and dreamers.

I was also taught to always balance what’s happening outside with what’s going on inside. Don’t focus on any one direction too long was the point. Oh, and in all things be thankful and humble, do unto others, as you would do to yourself, because you are.

So much of the inner life is personal and inaccessible. You tend towards silence or ecstasy. I write here mostly to myself, but I believe, no, I know what is happening inside myself is happening in many others. We are here for each other in the end. You will see the fruit in action in a person’s life. Don’t neglect your life in pursuit of Self. It is about incremental improvement built on everything that has come before. Slow and steady wins the race, but don’t be afraid to share your Light and what you learn along the way and have every bit of fun and laughter you can. Magic stuff. Now is the time to stand up and speak, not obfuscate, but clarify. There is great ignorance in the world, clarity is needed.

Why is this?

I’m not a scholar, I’m an engineer. I’m always looking for more efficient ways to do something. We are taught to reuse solutions and to recognize common patterns. I have a personal metaphysical experience I am never really able to transmit to anyone. I am the experience of being this thing in time and space here and now. God is a tinkerer I know because we are. Nothing is ever done. I have to use my experience as the filter for the world. We are always in flux. This is the flow of the Tao all must, through some way or another, learn to navigate through living a simple life. There is no one way to navigate life. What fun would one path be? This awareness and knowledge I was given by the East and teachers. It was a great gift. I had to wrestle with it. They were given it by others. And in this way an ancient wisdom has made its way through the ages to a new generation, to us right here now where East meets West, North meets South and the wind blows through it all. Should my experience or our story end with the words from the past or does the story continue in us? Do we get to add a note to the song? Has all that can be known been opened to us already? I don’t think so. We bind ourselves in the past or the future. We are the ones alive now, sort of speak anyway, dependent on your point of view. This is our time. We have all that came before in us as well.

I have embraced every and no religion equally. I see myself in all of them one way or another and their truths available to myself. Every creed has “The Way”, generally the rest are seen as errant. Humbly I offer an opinion that we are approaching knowledge of the East all wrong. We should not become Taoists, Vedics, Sufis or Buddhists necessarily for example. There is no one way they are offering, but there is an ideal way of being they can all teach you. Many flavors of nonduality and oneness are available to people based on their tastes. I see oneness as the central message of the ancient wisdom being proven true today by science. I think Alan Watts spoke of this often and beautifully. Eckhart Tolle has also built on the Taoist tradition to great success translating its basic truths for western ears. I feel what is collectively happening to us inside today is being projected outwardly through our stories and technology. The study of myth is the study of our inner world. Carl Jung gave us a modern map to our souls and our group unconscious mind. He translated this ancient wisdom into modern archetypes. In this way machine learning and AI will help us see ourselves more clearly now more than ever as intellect begins to separate from consciousness exoterically before our eyes.  The machines will see and show us the common patterns in our data and we will understand ourselves better hopefully.

Our generation has been gifted access to techniques bestowing focus and patience from the East and has added a personal aspect to oneness. The West has brought Love and the personal to the Eastern nihilism of oneness and nothingness. The Internet represents the mirror I believe of our hopes, dreams and fears. I think the elections are demonstrating our inner corporate turmoil as well, we know something is rotten in the hen house and it is us. The question, what medicine can heal our disease? I believe also that the UFO phonomena of our age is a reflection of some of our deepest fears and hopes. UFOs have become the mandala of our age perhaps in our search for now, intergalactic wholeness, not just personal wholeness. We have gone beyond the brotherhood of man and now we ponder how to relate to the ‘Others’ possibly out there, while we struggle with our relationship with each other and nature right here. We are looking feverishly. We are desperate to discover we are not alone. We are preparing ourselves to answer the question whether we are alone.

We must all find the answer to this feeling of apparent aloneness ourselves and like fast. This is where Aliens or God in the sky are not needed. If we can see what we are, we will answer our question. We should compare notes. No one is more worthy, being qualifies you to ask and answer the questions of existence. We all have a part of the Light and Truth each has to discover themselves for the sake of all. Do we see ourselves as separate from everything or part of everything? That answer will dictate the future. It’s a pop fly, the Universe is teetering on the decisions we are making today toward wholeness in a collective Innerverse or separation and death in a cold harsh Universe.

For myself, this puts the UFO phonomena in a new light. To study it is to study our collective unconscious. I’m not the first to have this thought. I believe the UFO myth is being manipulating to effect changes in our group unconscious mind and set the tune for the rest. We know everything is connected. If we believe it together, we will move planets and Suns. This is a dangerous game the powers that be are playing. What we are inside is expressively itself collectively now outside. We might want to listen. I believe the powers in the world today know a great change is happening in us. We are evolving beyond time and space and just our senses. They aren’t sure if it’s a good thing to encourage or a bad thing to supress. It’s beyond profit. Our collective consciousness is stepping up. Will you suppress it or let it free?

Behold Kabir

kabir.jpg

I am wrecked by Tagore who translated The Songs of Kabir, here is a taste. Kabir sought to find common ground between Hinduism and Islam. I can’t read much at one time. I think he found common ground for All of Humanity. What are my silly scribblings beside such beautiful expressions of the soul for the Beloved from One who was so close. I am speechless for now.

I want to visit and live in this place. I could almost touch it reading his words.

II. 61. grah candra tapan jot varat hai

THE light of the sun, the moon, and the stars shines bright:
The melody of love swells forth, and the rhythm of love’s detachment beats the time.
Day and night, the chorus of music fills the heavens; and Kabîr says
“My Beloved One gleams like the lightning flash in the sky.”

Do you know how the moments perform their adoration?
Waving its row of lamps, the universe sings in worship day and night,
There are the hidden banner and the secret canopy:
There the sound of the unseen bells is heard.
Kabîr says: “There adoration never ceases; there the Lord of the Universe sitteth on His throne.” p. 61
The whole world does its works and commits its errors: but few are the lovers who know the Beloved.
The devout seeker is he who mingles in his heart the double currents of love and detachment, like the mingling of the streams of Ganges and Jumna;
In his heart the sacred water flows day and night; and thus the round of births and deaths is brought to an end.

Behold what wonderful rest is in the Supreme Spirit! and he enjoys it, who makes himself meet for it.
Held by the cords of love, the swing of the Ocean of Joy sways to and fro; and a mighty sound breaks forth in song.
See what a lotus blooms there without water! and Kabîr says
“My heart’s bee drinks its nectar.” p. 62
What a wonderful lotus it is, that blooms at the heart of the spinning wheel of the universe! Only a few pure souls know of its true delight.
Music is all around it, and there the heart partakes of the joy of the Infinite Sea.
Kabîr says: “Dive thou into that Ocean of sweetness: thus let all errors of life and of death flee away.”

Behold how the thirst of the five senses is quenched there! and the three forms of misery are no more!
Kabîr says: “It is the sport of the Unattainable One: look within, and behold how the moon-beams of that Hidden One shine in you.”
There falls the rhythmic beat of life and death: p. 63
Rapture wells forth, and all space is radiant with light.
There the Unstruck Music is sounded; it is the music of the love of the three worlds.
There millions of lamps of sun and of moon are burning;
There the drum beats, and the lover swings in play.
There love-songs resound, and light rains in showers; and the worshipper is entranced in the taste of the heavenly nectar.
Look upon life and death; there is no separation between them,
The right hand and the left hand are one and the same.
Kabîr says: “There the wise man is speechless; for this truth may never be found in Vadas or in books.”

I have had my Seat on the Self-poised One, p. 64
I have drunk of the Cup of the Ineffable,
I have found the Key of the Mystery,
I have reached the Root of Union.
Travelling by no track, I have come to the Sorrowless Land: very easily has the mercy of the great Lord come upon me.
They have sung of Him as infinite and unattainable: but I in my meditations have seen Him without sight.
That is indeed the sorrowless land, and none know the path that leads there:
Only he who is on that path has surely transcended all sorrow.
Wonderful is that land of rest, to which no merit can win;
It is the wise who has seen it, it is the wise who has sung of it.
This is the Ultimate Word: but can any express its marvellous savour? p. 65
He who has savoured it once, he knows what joy it can give.
Kabîr says: “Knowing it, the ignorant man becomes wise, and the wise man becomes speechless and silent,
The worshipper is utterly inebriated,
His wisdom and his detachment are made perfect;
He drinks from the cup of the inbreathings and the outbreathings of love.”

There the whole sky is filled with sound, and there that music is made without fingers and without strings;
There the game of pleasure and pain does not cease.
Kabîr says: “If you merge your life in the Ocean of Life, you will find your life in the Supreme Land of Bliss.”

What a frenzy of ecstasy there is in p. 66 every hour! and the worshipper is pressing out and drinking the essence of the hours: he lives in the life of Brahma.
I speak truth, for I have accepted truth in life; I am now attached to truth, I have swept all tinsel away.
Kabîr says: “Thus is the worshipper set free from fear; thus have all errors of life and of death left him.”

There the sky is filled with music:
There it rains nectar:
There the harp-strings jingle, and there the drums beat.
What a secret splendour is there, in the mansion of the sky!
There no mention is made of the rising and the setting of the sun;
In the ocean of manifestation, which is the light of love, day and night are felt to be one. p. 67
Joy for ever, no sorrow,–no struggle!
There have I seen joy filled to the brim, perfection of joy;
No place for error is there.
Kabîr says: “There have I witnessed the sport of One Bliss!”

I have known in my body the sport of the universe: I have escaped from the error of this world..
The inward and the outward are become as one sky, the Infinite and the finite are united: I am drunken with the sight of this All!
This Light of Thine fulfils the universe: the lamp of love that burns on the salver of knowledge.
Kabîr says: “There error cannot enter, and the conflict of life and death is felt no more.p. 68

Simple Truth

If you love All

As yourself

We will be fine

If you live only

For yourself

We’re fucked

Pretty simple

A Man of Truth

“In order to understand
the interrelation of truth and falsehood in life, a man must
understand falsehood in himself, the constant
incessant lies he tells himself.” – G. Gurdjieff

I met a wise man with vision

His words slowly stripped away

My uncertainty

His patience steadied me

His commitment and determination

Humbled me

His trust lifted me

This is a man who wants nothing

But the Truth

This Man has my full attention
